early boarding pass southwest

5 minutes ago, I checked in right on the button for 24 hrs ahead of flight. I was probably the 1st or 2nd checker-in and got A-30. I bought my wife early bird for this flight on 12/23 and her number was A-18.

monkeyshed,

which SW app are you talking about? Can you tell me exact name please?

If you have an iphone, just go to the app store and search "Southwest". It comes up as Southwest Airlines....which is free, and you can book flights, check in, and all of the other things you can do on the website, at the touch of a couple of buttons.

This compares to what I've experienced. If you know you're not going to be available anywhere close to 24 hours ahead, the early bird would be your way. If you can check in within a resonable amount of time, I don't see the need. I've also noticed that on the way OUT to Vegas the numbers go much more quickly because we're watching the clock and anticipating our vacation. On the way HOME from Vegas, I can check in hours late and still score a late A or early B ticket....I guess because people don't have access, aren't watching closely, or aren't wanting to think about going home yet.
Thanks monkey, Got it!

Used it on my last LV trip and I was second to board and got seat 1C from Boston Logan........... worth $100+ to me
Just checked in for a flight to Florida. I was pretty much right on the numbers at 2:45 - although I'm sure others were, too.

First flight we're the last in A and the first three in B. When we change planes, we're B12-B15. Little lower than I usually am when I'm right at the 24 hour mark, so guessing more people maybe are starting to pay the fee. Probably good news for SW.
You may be right about that. Still, those numbers would work for me. All I need are two seats together and I'm ok. A B ticket will usually allow that. I don't care if I'm at the front or the back...that's not worth $20 to me. If I had to sit in the middle of two strangers with my wife at the other end of the plane doing the same, that's when it steps up in value for me.

The poster above said it was worth $100 extra to sit in seat 1C but I personally wouldn't pay $10 extra for that.....we all have the perks we love, so I do understand what he's saying. I'm just hoping that people don't decide overwhelmingly that they love to pay extra for their seats!
