Early pickup at Dollar.....

I am now arriving five hours earlier than orginally planned. If i modify my original reservation at Dollar the price goes way up..same with a new reservation.

If I show up and check in for my rental five hours early...how are most likely to respond?? (it is still with in the same 24 hour rental period)

give me my rental at that time, no questions or...

tell me it is outside my reservation and make me wait or...

do a new earlier rental???

I've done it all different ways..........but my first suggestion, since you've already tried online,
is to Call Cust. serv. and see if they'll give you a good deal, coming in earlier.

I've had good luck Talking with a person, and got a good price.

If all else fails? I'd just go back at the appointed time.

Or try booking with a diff. co. diff. Rezzie.

I agree with CLV - call cust service and see what if anything they'll do for you. I had a similar experience in that I needed an extra day tacked on. Rebooking online I would lose my low online rate that I had managed to work down to a great level after a few months of careful checking. I didn't want to throw all of that away by adding a day and was prepared to use public transportation the last day as an alternative. But thanks to suggestions from the LVA msg board, I phoned cust service while in LV and they added a day at my low rate. You have nothing to lose by calling them - a lesson for us all.

Heck, I've just simply returned it a day late (i.e., on the 8th day of a weekly rental) and they just added on 1/7th of the rate from my original reservation amount. That's even easier than contacting customer service beforehand.

Last Dollar rental I had my plans changed and changed again. So, I went to pick up my car two hours early. This was not a problem at all ........they just change the time you have to return the car? I'm sure it might depend on alot of things, but I would think they would run into this alot. Also, I am a Dollar rewards member (I think thats what it's called) so, I just go downstairs and they seem nicer and the paper work is already done.
