I just got a compact weekly rate for the last week in Feb. for 81.00 total, tax included. Use ID 7015309---and Coupon code AD2739NNF.

Renting a fullsize from Alamo Saturday 2/4 through Tuesday 2/7 for $48.31 all paid. Used Corp. ID 7015223, Rate Code AA3 and Coupon Code AD6743JDP. Go Giants!

It definitely pays to keep checking back. We currently have a full size from Feb 22-Mar 2 for $281.55 including all fees and taxes. Still plenty pricey, but down about $110 from when we originally booked about six weeks ago.

Thanks a bunch. Today with my Insider # I finally got a compact down from $200 to $133 for 2/23-28. With the new ID code it dropped to $122 with free extra driver. Do you know where this came from, just in case they ask at pick up?

I always use the "kiosk" instead of the counter when renting, that way you never have to worry about providing physical coupons.

I believe it's a Costco coupon, but like others have said, just use the kiosk and avoid the counter and you should be fine.

Do you really need a full size car? If you drop down to a midsize, you would save another $54.00.

We usually take a midsize because parking is so much easier with a smaller car. This time we took a compact because we got that $81.00 rate that we just couldn't pass up. More money for gambling.

We"re rent the full size because DH has trouble with his hip, and getting in and out is just easier for him with a larger vehicle. Last year I rented a standard and I still haven't heard the end of it! This year we're taking a side trip to Tucson for a few days, and his cousin and cousin's wife are going with, so all the more reason to go a little bigger.
JHawk - I don't know the source of the code provided, but I tried it out for our reservation and I got the same price as when I used our insider's ID, so I wouldn't think you would have any problem. If you're concerned, why not just sign up and get your own insider #? That way you'd be sure you'd be ok.
BTW - I've rebooked twice today. Down $22 the first time, and then another $15 the second time. I love that Alamo makes it so easy - no need to give your cc info each time. I just make the new reservation and then when I have the confirmation # I go back and cancel the old one. Happy bargain hunting
