Finally Alamo

Finally reserved a full size from Alamo. The new site design was driving me a little crazy. Sent a few feedback emails and after two weeks was sucessful in signing in. Never did find out what the problem was but it kept kicking me out. Been Insider Member for years and could not get it to accept my sign-ins. Finally 1 week full size total $150.14. Satisfied. I have never in the past had a problem with Alamo's site but they changed it and it was messed up. Really like the older site much better.
what week are you booked for. I am looking to book for the week of March 5th to the 12th and the rates are ridiculously high! Any special codes you used. Thanks for the help and have a fabulous time in Vegas!
I was gonna ask the same question.Alamo rate for March 22nd to the 31st is currently $502. I've got a Dollar reservation for $290 for the same time period.

I'll keep watching!!
I'm looking for April rates and they are horrible too. But I've finally surmised that it's hard to find good rates right now unless you are booking some time in the very near future. I think it's all about supply and demand. The longer you wait, the better your rates will probably be.

As I said for about two weeks the site would not let me sign in. I even changed password but still it was locked up. I wrote two feedback emails to Alamo. The fisrt one they answered it still would not work but the second did. Before I was going into site and just starting reservation (on left side of page) and the prices were way out of line. When I did manage to sign into the site and my name came up I booked the trip. Look for a box across the top that says deals. I hit it and reveived $10 ff the rental. The first time I rented it I did not see the deals box and the price was $161.84. I rebooked the trip using the coupon code (it is already in box when you start) the price came back $150.14. So I started to cancel the first reservation as I have done in the past and it said I had to call a number to cancel. I did and they cancelled it right away. For some reason I could not cancel the first reservation online. The week we are going is Jan22----Jan 29 full size $150.14. I always feel anything under $175.00 is a fair price and was very satisfied with what I got. I have dealt with Alamo for years and never experienced any problems but the new site created a lot of confusion at first. Good Luck.
I had been screwing around with Alamo for Jan 29 - Feb 3 and I had gotten down to a mid-sized for $147 (I found a slightly better deal with Advantage but since I am sensing that the change in ownership has tilted the company to the shady side of the street I decided not to do business with them). Then one day I happened to look at the Chase Visa benefits site (My SWA rewards card) and I saw a special 30% off deal with Alamo. I ran the time frame and got a full-sized for $117 which became $127 after indicating that I wanted my airline (SWA) bonus credits. Still a hell of a deal for a full sized. Take a look if you have a Chase Visa card.
I will add that late March and early April is expensive due to the NCAA BB tournament and Spring Break. We are going Mar 20 thru Apr 2. So far we are down to $365.30 for a mid-sized with Advantage. However I will keep looking until the day we leave and if I find anything close to that number I will cancel Advantage based upon what I said in the previous posting. My advice re: rental cars is be persistent. Check many places often as the rates change overnight for no particular reason.
Not sure if this was accurate but the way the prices have jumped up from what i originally booked i did not take the chance. I booked a rental for feb 23rd thru feb 28th using american casino guide coupon codes for 1 free day. It came back at about 122 out the door so i booked. This was on the 2nd of jan. A few days letter I went in to checkin online so it would have my DL saved and it wanted to change my price by $50! I called alamo and explained what was happening and after talking to 2 separate people they both stated adding my license would be modifying my trip so it would change the price, so I will be visiting the counter this time. I have an insider membership but I did not use it this time, mainly because of the new site format, I couldnt find it easily. So just a heads up to anyone booking, be aware the price could change if you attempt to do online checkin.
The new site really sucks---Alamo would be smat and save a lot of hard feelings with custoemrs if they noted a few very important changes on their site. As I have said in the past for two weeks it was like they really were fighting customers so they lost their business. Yes the site is different and one really needs to really look it over and then proceed. As I said there has beena few complaints with the site you would think someone in the powers to be a Alamo would correct thnings and move forwrd. My question is I had a problem trying to cancel a reservation online and had to call. I wonder if this will be the norm from now on or will it be like it has been in the past cancel and re-book.
I also don't like the redesign. The old site needed to be less busy, but this one is WAY too dumbed down.
