Finally Alamo

The design must have had only white and blue to work with. DULL!!! DULL not bad if the site was friendly but until you get use to it or straighten out the jumble it is difficult to navigate. Change is hard to get use to and hard for some people to accept but as I said 2 weeks of hell trying to sign-in and 2 or 3 feedbacks was a joke. Right now the site is performing good---keeping my fingers crossed.
There is no way checking-in on-line should change the terms of a reservation. It is to Alamo's benefit for members to check-in on-line as it moves the crowd faster. The comments made about the new Alamo and its website are making me nervous.
koltunowicz, the EXACT same thing happened to us for our December rental. (I posted about it in another thread.) The price changes if you try to view, modify, or check in the reservation. The higher amount also shows in the kioske when you check in at the airport rental center. You have to go to customer service, which is upstairs where the cars are, and show them your original reservation confirmation or e-mail. For us, they adjusted the price back to the lower, original e-mail amount.

I have been in touch with Alamo about this, and at that time they had no clue about it. By now they should have heard from other people who have the same problem. My current theory is that we both used coupons or an affilliate code. You used ACG and I used Costco. I did not change anything like a date or times or driver's license.

You might send them feedback on their web site. There is an agent named Jerry Aufdenkamp who helped me.

I haven't tested it recently because Alamo's rates are so high (over $400 for a week for a full). Instead I booked a Dollar Full size for $202. I haven't used Dollar for years, but it was better than using Alamo's terrible new web site and higher rates.

I've pretty much given up on Alamo (their site sucks and what happened to the weekly specials?)...Budget rates are significantly lower thru the Costco site. My rental next week is only $102 total for a 6 day rental (interm). I've rebooked it 3 times, the last being yesterday...maybe it will go even lower by the weekend.

Bill, some members here have warned (in older threads) that the Las Vegas Budget location does not accept Costco coupons because they are an independent franchise. I have no experience with this.

bcc, I've gone thru Costco the last 2 trips to Vegas (Sep & Oct) with no problem.
