the gouging continues..., and the sheep pony up and pay.
Basically it comes down to this.....if you are a light traveler and don’t mind sitting in the middle seat you cAn save serious money on these airlines.
im neither so they don’t work for me. Southwest has cheap fares and luggage is free....and they have a great rewards credit card. That’s my ticket
I've flown Frontier and Allegiant quite a few times, Allegiant no more because they stopped flying to my home airport. If you know what you are doing, you can still get desired perks on Frontier flights for much less than what other airlines charge for similar flights.
Southwest recently raised their charge for early bird boarding from $15 to $25 each way. I'm NOT happy about that!
Early bird boarding is Southwest's baggage fee.

Agreed - but EB is optional. Don’t know how much longer SWA will be able to avoid a real baggage fee...

WHOA! I did not know that!!!
Presuming you have a smart phone you can have SIRI or ALexa set an alarm 2 minutes before general checkin begins on Southwest....and then you dont need to pay up for the early bird fee.
Doing the 24-hour ahead online check-in is going to result in you getting an isle or window seat in the back half of the plane, or a middle seat in the front half. I want a window seat in the front half of the plane, with carryon space available at that row if I'm traveling with a carryon bag.
One thing that Frontier now does that I don't think any other airline does, is they not only charge for carryon, they charge MORE for carryon than checked luggage!
