If one is using a GPS, it would be a good idea to check the cigarette lighter socket before leaving the rental car lot. They should have those fuses available (but it may be more trouble than buying them yourself).

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer maps to GPS. Part of the fun of traveling is planning the trip. Of course, I know my way around Las Vegas after so many trips, so I don't need much help.

I write driving directions for a fleet of Christmas decor trucks, so I am a little prejudiced. A driver who uses his GPS rather than my written directions will, often, wind up lost.
