handicapped person

we will have a handicapped person with us for an upcoming trip to LV
what are your suggestions about getting from airport and back and around the strip
he can not move at all, but loves going places in his wheel chair

we are having no luck in getting a handicap van
he has to be lifted to get in a taxi

Call the wheelchair rental companies in Las Vegas, even if he is bringing his own. They may know something. The hotels are also very familiar with customers needing wheelchair assistance and may be able to point you in the right direction.

The airport shuttles (Bell Trans, Grayline, etc.) have w/c lifts. Might help in getting to/from airport, at least. Call them, as it might depend on the size of the w/c, etc.

Does Vegas have Links and/or Care Links?

If your friend is ADA Paratransit certified in his Home city, he can have them fax his eligibility to Regional Tranportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) ADA Paratransit Certification Office. This will allow him a visitors pass up to 21 days of Handicapped van service, door to door, 1 to 3 day advance notice for pickup and he is allowed to ride with a companion or PCA. We use this service for my Husband and it works great- to and from the airport and from hotel to hotel. Hope this helps, have a Great trip
