i got TUNNELED but

McCarren to Ballys is about $18 tip included right? cabbie tunneled me and then took me to Ballys. hey I-15 smooth ride,after i got my bag and he wanted $25 i gave him $15 and told him "u tunneled me if u want the extra $10 call metro(las vegas police) and i will wait here. he took the $15 and left. i have been coming to Vegas for about 10 yrs and i have a clue what routes should b taken. no i did not get a name or license number.

I am paying $46 for a 4 day rental with Alamo. I would hate to pay for a cab and get ripped off. I like my freedom.

LMAO way to go Santa, I always say take the city streets. The cabbies should be punished for this!!!!! but never are!!!

I think that it would be good if as many people as possible could know about this rotten practice of "Longhauling" and it definitely would be good if other Las Vegas related websites (most especially travel-related ones) would post this issue for the public to see!

Reminds me of the Russian driver taking the tunnel to MGM. LOL

I recall when we came out onto LV Blvd we were a long ways to Tropicana.

I gave him what I thought was fair.
I think $10. This was maybe 8 years ago?

The strangest thing of all was we got the very same driver the next trip.

I told him, "No tunnel."

He said, "Why not?"

Durning our December trip, I spoke to several cab drivers about long hauling. (We were going to TI from the airport and use the cab to visit other casinos) I received the same response, don't blame the driver but blame the cab companies. The drivers said they are under pressure from the cab companies. Drivers with low numbers are fired on a regular basis and the cab companies are hiring drivers on a daily basis.

We don't use rental car for a variety of reasons, so we have to take a cab or walk.

Bottom line if you are a Vegas rookie, chances are you will be long hauled. All others make sure you mention to your driver "NO TUNNEL AND THE FASTEST WAY".
