A Joke Right

I just read this on the LVA Home page. This idea is plain wrong. For one, you pay for your trip in advance and this allows the Company to earn interest on your money. Secondly, this is an example of sometimes being too greedy can hurt your Business. I predict that if this is true Allegiant will be out of Business within the next year.

• August 26, 2012 12:36 Another Allegiant Add-On: Allegiant Air has come up with another way to squeeze a few more bucks out of flyers. Using a credit card as opposed to a debit card when you book now results in an added $4 charge.
To begin with, you always pay for your airfare in advance (when booking). Also, many businesses charge customers extra to pay with credit cards, so this is not unheard of.

If enough people protest, they may re-think this new policy, but I don't think it will put them out of business any more than all their other stupid fees have.
Just today I went to my bank and asked to get a debit card. You guessed it, because I'm going to use it at Allegiant Airlines for a ticket purchase. They are a low cost airline so to me it makes sense to have two prices one for cash equivalents and one for credit. Merchants are charged typically 2-4% by credit card companies. The two price model has been in place at many gas stations for years. I have never paid for a single Allegiant add on and never will.
Slabow:

Good for you. I overreacted to this News because I am sick of always paying more for everything and getting less. As a Satae Government worker I haven't gotten a raise since 2008. Furthermore, my overall compensation which is wage plus benefits was reduced 25%.

The Rich never lose any money as they punish the normal person to compensate for their shortcomings.

Fortunately, we have choices. If we don't like a company or the fees they charge, we DON'T have to use them.
