Just got midsize at Payless this morning off their specials for $119 July 1-6 and got full size yesterday (same dates) from Budget for $125 using Entertainment Book discount codes. Had no luck until around three weeks out, and then prices began to drop. (Budget codes - BCD =X433000 and CPN# MUGZ120 and Budget goes up and down huge amounts constantly...I just keep plugging away.) Bob
I just went into Budget web site and registered BCD X433000 CPN MUGZ120 for July 10/17 full size and it accepted the coupons but the total price came to $251.40. Will keep watching as I am watching Alamo--and Hotwire. I try several times a day so it will come down hopefully within the next few weeks. Thanks
Wow, they really jump those prices around. I usually wind up checking twice a day. It's a pain in the neck, but it usually pays off with a reasonable rental price. Good luck you you; you still have some time to hit a good deal.
When I was looking for that same time period a few weeks ago, Dollar had the best price with no codes but using their "city special" rate that you can click after you get their basic rate.
Had an email from Dollar today for a !0% off base rate of a mid size car code of E10ID. It is a max rental of 4 days so if you need a longer rental period this won't work. We are only renting for a couple of days and this code was $3 cheaper than no code with the city special rate I previously had so I went ahead and modified our reservation using this code.
We always need the car for 1 week so will continue to look. Thanks for the information. Seems like Alamo has really gone wild before we could always get a full size for less than $165.00 all in included. Don't want the car for nothing but still do not want to pay $243.00 or higher like I just seen. We belong to all the rental clubs and all seem to be high. Hotwire was the cheapest so far $199.00 full size but we still have two weeks to check. In the end it won't matter what the price is we are going to rent a car in any event. Just getting tired of checking.
