I have already started booking for my September trip. Sometimes it gets better and sometimes you can add the coupon to a previous reservation. Sometimes I have 3 reservations going and can only use the coupon on one of them. Sometimes I have to rebook the entire thing LOL>
Costco ,AARP and AAA have discount coupons that are good til the end of the year.
On a related note - I see that Alamo charges 5.00 to cancel a prepaid reservation. Does anyone know if they charge to modify one? Say for instance the price goes down, or you can get a bigger car for the same price. I tried calling their customer service number and it was a fiasco - someone, somewhere who's first language obviously wasn't English. I conceded defeat and hung up after I had posed the same question three times and they still weren't getting what I was asking.
I would thing modify to a larger car but price drop maybe not so easy. I would go in and see just what you can do online and what you can't without being charged.
I've booked and re-booked and modified on Alamo a number of times. Price drops, change of car sizes, different days and times, etc. I do this all online at the Alamo site.
