LV Blvd vs I 15

Right before Thanksgiving, I spent an impromptu night in Vegas. Having left Phoenix a little later than planned, I arrived in Vegas around 5:30 - 6:00 pm local time. Somewhere between Green Valley Pkwy and the 15, the traffic came to a complete stop on the 215. I opted to take LV Blvd to Ballys. Would taking the 15 to Flamingo been a better choice (at that time of day)?
L- Larry the Limo driver might have the inside track on this ?

But what I do? I take McCarran exit Off 215 (which is the exit before LV Blvd. I believe)
and drive past the airport and connects on Paradise. Youre on the same side of LV Blvd as Balllys.
Easy.

I believe in avoiding 215 & 15 that time of evening. There definately seems to be
morning & evening commute traffic in that town.

Traffic moved quickly on LV Blvd. Thanks for the suggestion.

I noticed they are putting up signs that are supposed to tell the drive time from the sign to an exit off the 15. That info would have been helpful.
I'm with CLV. Generally, anything east of LVB to include the properties on that side of the Strip, would be the airport exit off of 215, through the tunnel, up Paradise to Harmon, head west and sneak in the back.

Even if the 15 isn't bad, Flamingo to the Strip and actually beyond almost to Paradise is always slow with a long traffic light cycle.

We found that there's never a traditional "rush hour" in Vegas....traffic snarls at 2 pm and clear sailing at 6 pm...it defies the majority of big cities across the US.

215 is definitely at it's worst from 4 pm - 6 pm. CLV's suggestion of the airport tunnel to Paradise to Flamingo is the best option at that time of day. I-15 and LV Blvd are iffy. Sometimes you get lucky, but sometimes it's also backed up. This is especially true on Friday when everyone is driving into town from the South.

Actually, quite a while ago, I reported that through the Las Vegas Traffic Cameras link, I ended up timing the signal at Flamingo and LV Blvd. and I found it to be 1 Minute and 30 Seconds in each direction. And so what this means is that if you get to one of these signals going North, South, East or West, then you have to wait for 4 and 1/2 minutes for it to be your turn to go!
