Lyft good - credit card fraud alert bad

Took Lyft from Golden nugget to Rio for the Penn and Teller show and return two nights ago. Terrific rates, great service and happy all around. Until next day, my credit company sent me a fraud alert. Showed Four charges, the two legit and two others of $25.00 each for the same rides. Apparently, Lyft holds a temporary charge until the charge clears. Wish I knew this , because I Freaked, and decided to take a cab to the airport at $40 which would have been half the price with Lyft, rather than deal with fraud on my account. Cautionary tale. The temporary charges were eliminated and I was only charged for the actual ride charges. We were so pleased, we gave each driver a 5.00 tip.

The drivers should alert passengers about this. Glad it was otherwise a good experience.
the Lyft app should alert passengers to this. your credit card company should have recognized those as "pending" charges. but at least they were alert, better safe than sorry. I have had several credit card breaches after vegas vistis.
This information is on the Lyft app as of 11/15. Several q & a in their faqs.
