MUST READ!!!!!!!!!! SUPER CHEAP CAR RENTAL

I've been looking for a good price on a car rental for late Feb/early Mar, and didn't think I'd find anything near as cheap this year, until I stumbled across this. Don't know if it will work for your dates or times, but it worked for mine. Also, I'll tell you now that you must pay up front.
I'm a Total Rewards member. Don't really know if you need to be a member or not.
Go to Total Rewards website and click on TR alliances. Then go to getaways, where you'll be able to find car rentals.----I was able to get a mid-size from Dollar for a week, from Feb. 25 to Mar. 4, for a grand total of $101.57. It sounds too good to be true, I know, but I double checked and triple checked everything I was doing, and paid the amount up front, and so far, everything seems alright. If I have any problems, I'll report back, but it won't be until early March. I found this on Vegasmessageboard.com, so if you want to go there and read a little more about it, just go to the Getting there and getting around forum. That's where I found it.
What a great help. I to went to the website and was able to rent an immediate car from Dollar for a total of
$101.57 for 5 days. My dates are; 2-22 thru 2-27-14. Being a TR member, the site automatically applied
$9 from my TR funds I had in my account as an additional discount. Will let everyone know after the trip how
it goes. Thanks again for your great tip.
wonder how they are getting away with not charging taxes and fees
Because this sounded too good to be true, I called them. The only problem I see, is it is a non-refundable rental. Living in Chicago, there is always a possibility we won't get out due to storms. I don't know if I want to take that chance. However, it is the best rental price I have ever seen.

That was one of my concerns too. I'll be driving from West Virginia to Baltimore and catching a plane and am hoping the weather holds out. I've never paid in advance for a car before, but I hadn't found a rate for my dates anywhere under $250, so I figured it's worth the risk, since it's only a hundred bucks.
Just did a mock booking for our September trip and came up with $101.00 total for 7 days. We don't have flights yet so I can't book yet but I'll go back when we do. Thanks for the info and keep us posted on how it goes.
Well booked the next two trips as suggested above...Got a Order ID got charges $108.24 Rental company Thrifty. However had to called and had conformation sent out to email address I supplied...I received the following Thrifty logo address 7135 Gilespie Las Vegas Dates correct but then I tried to enter booking Thrifty reference number, PNR reference number on Thrifty website and it said not valid number any suggestions need help.
Still trying to find out about rental with TR...Emailed them about Thrifty Conformation number no valid and they emailed back they only have Hertz available at the Las Vegas location.....Told me to contact them directly so I rechecked with TR and they really were not clear as to what was going on with this deal...The said it takes 24 hoursto post conformation numbers from TR to Thrifty...I really not sold on that answer.....will follow up on this tomorrow am....
I tried to book this afternoon. It was easy enough to go through the site and get a great rate with Dollar. But when I pressed "book" I got a "booking failed" reply. It asked me to call the customer service to help me with the booking. I did and the representative quoted me other car rentals that were twice the price. I said "no" to her quotes and then she then gave me to another agent who tried to sell me some travel group plan. I listened to his talk but when I said I was definitely not interested he hung up. Later when I checked my credit card statement the quote for the Dollar rental showed up as "pending" even though the site said "booking failed". I called my credit card and they will watch to see if the charge is dropped or goes through. BUYER BEWARE. I wonder if Total Rewards realizes what kind of shady operation is being driven on their watch.
Many times, when you book anything through another reservation system, it takes a while before it makes it into the system. I made my reservation three days ago. Gonna try to call Dollar on Friday and see if it's made it there yet. As for the "booking failed", maybe the rate was a mistake and they just got around to catching the error. If they have, I hope they at least honor the reservations that had already made it through.
