MUST READ!!!!!!!!!! SUPER CHEAP CAR RENTAL

The rate I was quoted for Thrifty through Total Rewards was $101.57 for 4 days on a intermediate --- no fees or taxes. We'll see.
Obviously, no fees or taxes is an impossibility. My hope is that the base rate is around $60 or $70 and the taxes and fees are already figured into their price. I've seen base rates this low or close to it in the past few years, but hadn't been able to find anything in that vicinity so far this year.
As I said my rate for 7 days through Thrifty for a full-size is $108.24 hopefully it will hold up...Need to have a back up plan so I don't get to LAS and be at their mercy....They told me that Thrifty would have all information on rental 5 days and I would be able to pull it up 5 days out from pick-up. I currently have two reservations through TR 3/11---3/18 and again 5/13-----5/20. If this is a bad deal a miss quoted deal it will set poorly with a lot of TR members...there has been a lot of calls and we all seem to get the same answer it on the up and up and the total is what you were quoted.....Problem is all rates are high at this time and with all other increases air fares, food, rooms, shows, then resort fees and taxes Las Vegas is quickly pricing itself out of the market...Way too many other choices today. sure they are not as nice but a lot closer to home and price wise beats Las Vegas.....Right now it is -9 degrees (no wind thank goodness) and would love to be in Las Vegas even riding in a cab.
I've got a 6 day rental through this deal; Premium (Maxima?) for the same $108.24 price as others. It went from "pending" to posted on my Chase account yesterday, showing "OVC Cruise & Travel" for the description. As suggested, I'll get a backup plan in place, and within 5 days of the trip, call and confirm with Dollar.

This seems unreal, the price is great, but there are no taxes and or fees. This can't be. The reservation says amount due at pick-up $0. How can they not charge tax and fees, the city has got to want its cut.
Although it may not specifically state it in the offer, the taxes and fees are apparently included in this amount, which would probably make the base rate somewhere in the $60-$70 range.
jokermgb---I'm all for the taxes and fees being included....one hell of a deal...cars are just crazy in rates this past year.....hopefully the first ones to take advantage of this deal will report back...we don't leave until 3/11---3/18 and then again 5/13---5/20.......hopefully it will all be the way we are thinking if not it will leave quite a few TR members disappointed in the way they do business....full-size $108.24 a price like that takes me back quite a few years......
Greek. I just went back to the website and after you get to the page with the car rental prices, you can scroll down that page. Over top of each vehicle choice, if you look over on the far right, it reads: "Total price including taxes and fees." First time I saw it was tonight. Never scrolled down the page before. And if you scroll on down, you'll see some ridiculous prices, such as over $400 for an economy car from Enterprise. Very bizarre pricing, but I'm still confident that we'll get this price. But if everybody has a back-up plan, and just calls Dollar or Thrifty a few days before leaving, there should be nothing to lose. Unfortunately, I don't have much mobile internet communication. When I go to Vegas, I take a break from the internet. But I'll be back by March 5 and I will let you know exactly how it goes.
jokermgb---Thanks I just went back into site and as you said taxes and fees included....one hell of a deal. I never bothered to looked below where I booked but it is there and hopefully all is well...Have a great trip. After this winter blast we have had I'm sitting on ready...We are always in Las Vegas in Jan--Mar--May--July---Sept Oct/Nov. and this year since 2000 the schedule left out Jan....Well we needed a break (only to save up money)....

I booked one for 8 days through Thrifty~~a Altima came to $125.77 vs $206.00 on the thrifty site I guess I will see what happens!!! Hoping this works--I did a back-up at Thrifty just in case!
