MUST READ!!!!!!!!!! SUPER CHEAP CAR RENTAL

I just booked a Full size car for a week in May for 108.24
I sure hope this is legit! It has been a few years since I have seen prices this low!
Will be anxious to hear the feed back from people once they have completed their trips.
Thanks for the tip!
All this chatter is interesting and informative (drmilled how do you know Chilcoot is female? All I can see from his/her posts is that he/she is pretty left wing). There are so many places to book cars diligence and persistence is the key. I just got back from a week in Vegas (Jan 18-25) and many searches led to a mid-sized with Advantage for $94 (weekly rate about $47 and taxes about $47). I also found a three day period for our next trip (Mar 18-31) where premium vehicles at three locations were much cheaper than compacts. I booked with Enterprise a premium for $306 total cost for two weeks. That is most incredible. After the three day period the prices were back up to the $600 range for the same period-premium car.
Well the rate that TR offered of $108.24 for a full-size for one week was a lot cheaper than I could get anywhere on the rental car sites...most when I checked daily was $339.00 Hertz--Alamo---Dollar---Thrifty and Hotwire.....Our reservations are for 3/11---318 and 5/13---5/20....As far as Chilcoot I could care less if male or female he or she just keeps cutting on members every shot he or she gets...instead of helping and sharing information it seems like always the same song cut here and cut there on posts......I for one was tickle to death to see a member posted this topic and it really looks like it going to save a lot of members money...
I agree that rate for a full-size is about as good as it gets. Especially in mid-march when folks start showing up for the Big Dance. That $47 rate I mentioned was an aberration and I am sure I will never see anything like that again and that isolated rate for the premium was probably an accident. While Chilcoot has never criticized anything I have said he/she is certainly at times a pain in the a--. However I did ONCE agree with something Chilcoot posted.

I got a rate for $102 for 7days in late March. The taxes and fees for 7 days is about $99, something can't be right.
When I reserved our car it never showed taxes and fees only full-size $108.24 and if you scrolled down it said taxes and fees are included.....We reserved 3/11----3/18 and again 5/13---5/20 and both rates were the same......
I went with it, you'll be there 2 weeks before me, so let me know!
gruberbox-----There are several members that have signed up for this deal....They are going to report back on their experience as to costs and any problems (if any). There has been several calls made by memebers to TR and they have been told about 5 days out from your pick-up the rental car company will have your conformation number and details. Best as most have done have a back-up plan...at this point as big as TR is you have to assume that the rates will be honored....What company were you assigned????
I checked this AM and the rate for my March trip was over $200 for a compact...sticking with Costco for now at $145 for intermediate.
I got Thrifty for $102. Haven't paid those rates in like 5 years. I will not do back-up until I get the trip reports from the others. Prices don't come down til about 2-3 weeks before the trip usually.
