New TSA Charges If You Are Flying As Of July 21, 2014

Hi Group,

I've been hearing something on the news today about some new transportation fee starting today, July 21, 2014 of I think $5.60 for a TSA Fee which is up from what it had been and I think that they said that any layover of longer than 4 hours may constitute an additional $5.60 fee because it may be viewed as a separate trip.

So check this out! I don't fly myself, but I knew that you guys should be told about this right away.

Ouch - TSA fee more than doubles. Wonder if they'll also cut personnel so we can have an even longer wait at security.....
Driving to Louisiana from Houston looks better every day. I spend less time on the road driving than I spend getting to the airport and flying to Vegas. I don't get ripped off for renting a car, I have my own. The food is great, the rooms as good or better than Vegas, gambling is even better. I get free play, comped rooms and great, friendly service. Also, no rip off "resort" fees. The "bean counters" have ruined Vegas for those of us who used to consider Vegas as a great place to visit.

I'm sure all the casinos in Vegas will miss your bubbly and generous personality, doc.....

Gourdhead- naw, they won't miss me for they will be too busy fleecing those who continue to show up and donate.
I just booked our trip from AUS to LAS ( just the trip there, not sure which day we're coming back yet) using SWA points and noticed the fee had gone up and mentioned it to my husband. Oh well, that plus the $12.50 early bird fee makes my trip to Vegas under $20, it shouldn't break the bank.
