Other than taking the bus it looks like a cab is the cheapest transportation from the airport to Orleans?

I thought I would take one of those group shuttles to Orleans but after looking at their websites it looks like Orleans isn't serviced by them. Just strip and downtown stops it looked like. So it looks like the next cheapest option is a cab. Is airport to Orleans a trip that I want to specify "no tunnel" in order to get the lowest fare?
not true, unless they have very recently changed it. march 30th 2016, I took the shuttle from the airport to the Orleans. $9 and some change. in fact, when you go to the window to pay for your fare, it says something like strip, downtown or off strip. I am not sure if I was using bell trans, showtime, or what, but it worked for me. I did the same back in august. I plan on doing this again in May. when are you traveling Jack? please update us when you find out for sure, I will need to make plans as well.
All of the Shuttle companies on the curb do service the Orleans and as previously stated, it is approximately $9. The only drawback is that you may have multiple stops before the shuttle gets to the Orleans and you could wait at the airport up to 15 minutes once you load before you depart for the properties.

You may also wait forever for a shuttle to pick you up on the return trip.

Rent a car....
It looks like people are very happy with the new Uber and Lyft services and they do service the airport. If you do end up taking a cab it would seem obvious to not use the tunnel but I wouldn't trust those taxi drivers. So definitely specify "no tunnel".

I am renting a car, but from a city location and returning to the airport complex at the end of my trip. I don't arrive until after the rental location is closed so I just need to get to Orleans and I'll be getting the rental the following morning.
Shuttle:
No worries about being long-hauled. One set price.
And the drivers are efficient as far as getting around all the hotels to drop people off.

As mentioned, don't schedule round trip. They aren't dependable on pick up time.
Cab back to airport is for some reason faster (and cheaper) than airport to hotel.
Phooey!
Why not look into the Super Shuttle that runs out of McCarren? I've used this shuttle service twice and have been very satisfied. I booked on line a couple of weeks before my trip and pre-paid for my fare. The shuttle service texted me when I landed and gave me directions on where to meet the shuttle bus. They limit the number of passengers to seven, but I have never had more than 3 other people on board. Last time there was only one other passenger and I was the first one to be dropped off. Both times I was at my hotel within 30 minutes after landing. The cost is only a couple of dollars more each way than the regular shuttles, but I used a AAA code to save a couple of bucks. I just booked the super shuttle for a round trip to Harrahs and back to the airport for my May trip. The cost is $18 round trip. I would pay more than that with a cab just getting from the airport to Harrah's.
