Payless rent-a-car

Has anyone used Payless Rent-A-Car in Las Vegas and your thoughts compared to otehrs Example Alamo--Dollar.
We used Payless last month and had no problem....The check in rep did try to add roadside assistance...I caught it and he took it off....other than that we had a new sentra that was super clean and comfortable and the return went very smooth.....I booked online and the price that I booked for was the price that I was charged....I would use them again as long as the price was right. Just make sure that you always check your agreement before signing (that's with any rental company).
Do you pick the car up at the rental facility? Is there any way to do some type of fast pass or do you have to stand in line?? Thanks!
lvtravel thanks for the tip. We always use Alamo and have been satisfied but prices for the week we need 3/6---3/13 are sky high. Payless and Advantage seemed to be a lot cheaper and just wanted some advise. Thanks.

I used Payless again........couple days ago..........because they had the dirt cheapest rate.

Usually I get stuck in their check-in Line, and its more tedious getting your contract over
the other Express check ins.
Once you get your contract, you have to visit the Booth downstairs (can be another line)
to get your key & get the Check-in slip to check out damage on the car.

So you then go inspect the car.........they have to go Back to the booth, to sign the slip,
and then they give you a Barcode on the back on your contract to Exit the gate.

Other than possibly 3 lines to get out? You're good to go, and the cars I've gotten there have been fine.

Upon Return, can go smoothly, BUT, you return your car where Advantage & a few other small companies
return theirs, so the line for Payless CAN be Long.
Mine was & the people ahead of me (with more luggage than Paris Hilton) let me get Checked out of there
before them, because otherwise I might have missed my plane.

One more issue lately.........the Lines from the Airport to get ON the Rental shuttles, can be VERY Long.
Seems like they are running fewer buses to Rental car facility.......and thats Another Line I didn't appreciate.
The first week of Dec. I decided to rent from Payless because of the good rate. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll pay double before I go through the horrible up-sell and scare tactics not only I, but everyone else I heard renting was getting.

Our insurance agent is our best friend, we travel lots, so I do know what I'm doing and what my rights are. After being "threatened" with everythng but taking my first'born child, I finally got my rental agreement and waited in the line where the cars are. When I checked out the car I was assigned, I noticed a HUGE chunk out of the front tire. You could see the wire and it was fraying. This was about an eight-inch HUGE chunk out of the tire.

When O went back to the building and explained why I wanted another car, there wasn't a problem and got another car. As we were leaving I see the guy that was standing in line when I returned the keys was getting in the car with the huge chunk out of the tire. I did stop and tell him.

This just tells me they are NOT safety consciense and I'll never rent from Payless anywhere.

You asked.
I only rent from Alamo. No extra deposit and no hassle. They are there to get you in and out as fast as possible. I would pay a slightly higher rental if it were between Alamo and another company.
Any comments on FOX? I can save quite a few bucks and the site is just down the street from the rental car center. FOX alleges that the shuttle from the rental car center runs every 10 minutes from the taxi stand. I could leave the crew to get the bags while I shuttle to the rental car center and then to FOX, get the car, and meet the crew back at the rental car center. Has anyone had an experience with FOX that would conflict with my grand scenario? Sorry for the blank. I tend to hit "reply" before I type my comment (old age?).
Fox is the worst rental company by far. Save the hassle and spend the extra $20.
