Presidential Limo Surcharges

We used Presidential Limo on our most recent trip from the airport to the hotel.

On the bill was a charge for:

Meet and Greet ----------- $10.00

What is that?
This is a charge that Bell and Presidential implemented about a year and a half ago. It is for pick-ups at the airport that are reserved but in that the guest does not have a regular account with the company. It is not charged on "House" moves (moves with our Caesars, Venetian, Palazzo, Orleans, Tropicana or Stratosphere logoed cars) or people that have a charged account with the company. As far as what it is for ........ your guess is as good as mine since we have always meeted and greeted our guests as part of the fee. It is not added if you get a "Kelly" limo which is a limo off the curb at the airport that hasn't been pre-arranged since there is no one to meet and greet you when you arrive. It is my understanding that other companies have had this fee for a while and Bell/Presidential just implemented it recently. To me, it's just like a resort or parking fee in that you are being charged for something that was part of the service, but now has been added to pad the companies bottom line. Sorry I took so long to respond to this one, but we were in Dubai on vacation from 12/12 to 12/21 ( an incredible place to see and vacation).

Larry (Limo Driver) from Las Vegas
The company I use in NY charged $10 plus parking to meet you inside at baggage. They called it a "Meet and Greet". To save it, you could meet them curbside. I'd bookmark trips in various cities through their affiliate program and that's how the charge would appear. In strange airports, it was easier to use than trying to find where to meet the drivers.
Just another gouge that the gullible are willing to pay...

meet and greet my arse!!!
Thanks for the information.
Some people will do anything to avoid spending $10. The funny thing is most of those people rarely have two nickels to their names.

So.... wouldn't that make perfect sense that people with little money should be looking to save the $10. This comes off as a misguided attempt at an insult.
Not at all. Its just that good things cost more up front but save you in the long run. Some people never get that. They'd rather spend $25 every six months at Payless for a pair of shoes than spend $200 on a pair that will last for years. Buy a $99 dollar suit twice a year rather than buy a good one that will last a decade.
As long as fees are disclosed up front, it's up to the consumer to decide if fee gives value or not. It costs x to have limo driver to meet you at baggage claim, and y to get limo curbside. Wait time for limo (curbside) is approximately ___.
