I tried Lyft last week. Even though I already had their goddamn "app" on my phone, it wouldn't let me make a ride request until I "updated" my information, telling them every goddamn thing about myself, including my shoe size and my favorite color. Then I had to download the newest version and install it. Time ticked away. I couldn't simply enter my pickup address---I had to turn on Google Location. Then, finally, I was able to request a ride--in twenty minutes, with no option for a longer interval. I dressed in a hurry and dashed downstairs. The driver never showed---and I would have seen him/her easily, as the hotel loading area was empty. Half an hour went by--no driver, no call, no text, no nothing. There was no way to check on the status of the ride; I tried to call the Lyft main phone number, but all I got was a prerecorded message telling me to use their app. In desperation, I called a cab, which showed up very quickly. While riding to the airport, I got a text message saying I had been charged $5 for not meeting my ride. I barely made it to the airport!
This was the third time this had happened. My record in actually getting a Lyft ride is 1-3. Never again will I even consider using those assholes.
I have been burned B-4 on Uber- bad.
