Rapid Reward Points?

I just used my southwest card for the first time, how long dose it take to get your points (50,000)? I was making plans for an early March trip, but I was told by southwest that it would be around 6 weeks for th.e points to get in my account, anyone have any info

Ordered mine the week of Thanksgiving, got it the next week, made one charge, and the points showed up on the first bill which I received on Dec 23. Debated doing it because of the $69/yr fee, but it is two round trips from our home airport, even at "normal" prices. I've noticed that on mark-down deals, I can get two round-trip flights for 30000pts. So, it seems like a really great deal---guess we will find out for sure when we try to book some time later in the new years. Hope that helps some how.

They run lots of sales, so you could as stated get much more then 2 trips. We live in MN but with taking a cruise in March, we used SW out of Milwaukee to Fort Lauderdale as we could leave our dog at my parents and book the free travel with much fewer points used then from MN. We still had enough points for 2 more rt to Vegas. Its a great deal.
