The Back End Story
===================
In May 2013 I was traveling from a club back to the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino via Nellis cab. The cabbie was somewhat disappointed that it was going to be a short and quick fare. Throughout the entire trip she expressed her disappointment due to the short fare. In fact, it was rather annoying how she kept complaining about the short fare. When we arrived at the Gold Coast, the fare came out to about $ 8.75. I paid her with a twenty and asked for $ 10 dollars back. Once again, she was very disappointed and said that she didn't have change so she was only going to give me back $9 and hence an larger tip.
I was livid over this scam, so I recorded her name, cab number and time of the incident. I then reported this to the on-line complaint interface offered by the Las Vegas Taxi Cab Authority.
======================
Yesterday, I received a letter and a cheque from Nellis Cabs for $11.00. The funny thing was that on the bottom of the letter, it had the file name which included "template" in the title of this form letter. Makes me think that this sort of this happens often.
Hence... if you've think you are being screwed by a Vegas cabbie (... and you should assume this is going to happen to you),...... record all the pertinent details and file a complaint. EVERY SINGLE TIME I took a cab in April 2013, I had to remind the driver of the shorter and more direct method of getting to the destination.
And, don't get me started about the tunnel either!
