Rental car recovery fees

Yesterday I received two letters about rental car recovery fees charged by rent-a car companies. They stated if you rented cars from June 3rd., 2007 through September 30, 2009 and wanted to be included in the settlement suit to fill out a form of the internet or sent the letters back into them. We have rented cars 6/7 times a year in Las Vegas during that period. There were about 4/5 companies listed in the complaint. Ours addressed Alamo and Hertz Rentals. If you rented from Hertz 3 times or more you my be awarded a voucher for $20 towards a future rental from hertz and Alamo was $10.00 if you rented 1 or 2 times.
I also received two.One from Enterprise and one from Alamo. For a measly ten bucks each, does not seem like it's worth the effort.
BBKING I have seen people who do a hell of a lot more for a $10.00. It takes a few minutes to complete and with all the bitching of rental car prices I'm sure there are a few who might just want to save on next rental. By the way I alwasy promised the companies to return my rentals but they still charged me the recovery fee (YOKE not JOKE)
I agree.I will apply for the coupons. It just seems like such a small return for all the effort the car companies and the plaintiffs are putting into it.

Do they send you these notices via snail mail? I know I rented a car from Alamo 3 times in LV during this timeframe. I don't believe I've gotten anything from Alamo. Hummmmmm. Is there a link anyone can provide if this is an online thing?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Deanna
My notices came by regular mail.
My notice came via snail mail. There's a website you're directed to go to: www.nevadacarrentalsettlement.com, but to register for the coupon you have to have the certificate registration number that's printed on the snail mail piece. There are emails for lawyers on the website; if you don't get your form in the mail, you might trying emailing one of them.
I rented from Alamo 4 times during the stated period but did not receive a notice. I sent an e-mail today, to one of the attorney's listed on the website. I'll post if I hear anything back.

It's a small return for us, but the lawyers are getting $1.4 Million.

Enjoy the $10 certificate, as I'm sure rental prices will go up a lot more than that to pay for the $1.4 Million to the lawyers.
I received an answer back from Arthur Stock, one of the attorneys in the suit. He said the suit only applies to rentals from the airport locations. All mine were, so I sent him back my rental information. He said they will follow up with Alamo.

I told him there were several people on the LVA forums who didn't receive any notice from the rental car companies either. He said they should also contact any of the attorneys listed on the website (nevadacarrentalsettlement.com) . Mr Stock's email address is [email protected]
