I always buy the EB. Not because I want to sit at the front of the plane, but so I can get an exit row seat. If it was a short flight, I'd probably just take my chances. But for the 4 hour flight to Vegas, I really appreciate having the extra leg room.
It is sometimes a crapshoot - I bought it once, got high A number on a flight that was 3/4 full. I prefer to check in 24 hrs. before flight. The one thing I dislike is the pre boarding, one legit pre boarder and 4-6 "family members" who are allowed to join the one legit pre boarder. Always someone(s) trying and being allowed to take advantage...
