southwest early boarding sham

A TON of angst here, on all sides of the subject, for something that's supposed to be fun ... travel.

For those who don't have one, get a smartphone. Next to having enough clean underwear it's the best travel item ever invented. And, actually, it can help you find where to launder your drawers or buy new ones, so it's the best.
For the first time, I have paid for early bird check-in. Like other posters have said, I dont want to be looking for an internet kiosk 24 hours prior to my departure. Lets face it, the people who aren't paying for this option are checking in exactly 24 hours prior to departure. That means if you wait an additional hour or two you may end up in the dreaded "c" group and a middle seat.

My last 2 trips, I checked in exactly 24 hours prior to departure and ended up in the "b" group. That tells me that more and more people are paying the $10. What would happen if everyone on the flight paid the $10? Can you imagine paying the ten bucks and getting a "c" group and a middle seat?

That's a good point. They may need to limit the number of EB options available per flight or run the risk of no one wanting to purchase them.
Don't forget that the more of the A - Listers and Bus. Select people, no matter if you're a EB or otherwise..you be getting pushed back.
