Southwest, if your Flight is delayed.........

If your Flight is Delayed, and you want to change Flight times? CALL THEM!

I was awoken by a Text from SW at 5:27AM (couple days ago while at GVR) to tell me that my
6 PM Flight was being Delayed an hour...........12 hour Notice & wakes me up. grrrrrrr

So much for sleeping in.....so I'm Now AWAKE & decided to Call SW & see if I could change Flights?

Was told If the Delay is 60 mins or more, I can change my Flight at No extra charge. Yay!

(I had wanted to change my flight Time, but it would have cost $200 More, so was going to just
stick with the cheaper Flight.)

Asked person on phone IF the 3:30PM Nonstop was still available? She said Yes.
I said ............can you give me a Confirmed seat? She said Yes.

I ended up with B-34 instead of my original A-20, but thats not too shabby. Thanks again, SW.
I have found sw very willing to help you. I have had to change flight a couple of time with them. Once we were on vacation when my father passed away and they changed our flight at no cost and no questions ask. Also got the call from them once that we had a flight delay and boy did they work with us to get a flight out. Some other airlines should take notes.
Great scoop, CLV!!! Very helpful. Love it.

My father passed away when I was in Las Vegas last year and they didn't do that for me. I got absolutely no empathy from them. All I was told was that I had to pay the difference and that was that. I had to pay $336.00 more to take another flight home.

So sorry about your father passing away while you were in Las Vegas.

CLV's situation involved a delayed flight, probably the difference.

It can also depend on who you get when you call. Sounds like you got a dud.

We were like vegas vp

When we had a similiar situation, we got stuck with a big change fee, too.

In fact, we called 3 or 4 times, as we weren't sure which flight we wanted, etc.

They were sympathetic, but if you weren't in the military, or over 65 years old - you had to pay the difference.

For us, it was over $500

My story had a happy ending. My mother decided she was going to complain to Southwest. I told her there was no way they'd refund the money and I wasn't interested in trying. She didn't listen to me and mailed letter after letter after letter. Finally, eleven months later, Southwest relented and sent me a check.
