Southwest losing the "Friendly" part

It is really amazing how many here have no concept of what a frequent flier program is and who should benefit. Fly more spend more and get more.

The "concept" is that SWA had a very generous, and user friendly, FF program for many, many years that served many of us well.
We mourn the loss.
Bound to happen, but we don't have to like it.
United and Continental to give more miles when you pay more.

Note: If you get the United credit card and I assume use it...you get one free bag and priority boarding whatever that means.
I, for one, was not happy to hear of the merger between SWA and AirTran. I'll try to use up all of my AirTran credits before the merger, while I can still get a reserved seat, use my credits to upgrade to business class, etc.

HOLY Cow, the same thing happened to me! AND, I booked a flight on 12/24 to go to Vegas in MAY, and changed it when the fare went down in April, and basically have 8 months to use the fare, not a year. And, I have a flight on 12/26, and they won't courtesy extend it TWO DAYS to let me use the $187... BUT, if you call after it expires, they'll give me a credit for HALF of it in the form of a gift card, basically CHARGING A CHANGE FEE. AND, I tried to use it in my husbands name, No go. Southwest has seriously gone south for their customer service. You are all right. Don't have to like it, and I now shop around more on other airlines. Ugh!
