Southwest says "No"

I'm a Southwest flier and agree with both no cell conversations and no electronic cigarettes. Still have to bring along my music and headphones for those little darlings who are uncomfortable and feel the need to cry.
I'm a big fan of Southwest but I am getting upset with people saving seats. We paid for early bird check in only to have to sit more than mid way back because of people saving seats. They need to announce no saving seats and have the attendants enforce it.
E-cigarettes are not allowed on any airline. That "vapor" has chemicals in it that are considered detrimental to a closed atmosphere.
erininsd....I couldn't agree more. I saw a guy do this on a flight from Vegas and tell people his child was going to sit with him. Then a few minutes later his buddy plopped down. I always buy earlybird because I want a seat with more legroom. Somebody essentially getting a two-for-one through chutzpah irritates me.

Actually, I've seen postings on this board where people have said their strategy is to only buy one Early Bird and save a seat for their non-EB partner. I'd have a problem if it was a group, but saving for one person isn't a big deal for me when I see it. Since I'm always EB I get a decent seat anyway ...

We received emails back from Southwest and they stated they did not have a policy in regards to savings seats and it's allowed as long as it does not disrupt the boarding process. They did refund our early bird fee.

Totally agree with seat saving. On early bird, found a guy saving 2 exit row seats for friends in the C group. Flight attendant was OK with this.
Seat saving ranks right up there with cutting in line. Saving a seat for one person I can live with. Saving seats for two or more persons I find unacceptable.

I've had this happen several times. I buy the Earlybird and get on to find multiple people saving seats. I sit where I want and if those saving seats don't like it, they can move to another row.
