Spirit Airlines?

I am really nuts. I booked the ticket for $119 then payed for the big front seat both ways for $120. Then paid for bags $56. Ha! Well at least I have paid and it's out of the way. I do like the non-stop flights to Vegas. I am 6"2 so I thought what the hell I might as well relax on the 4 1/2 hour flight and have extra room. I could blow $120 that I am spending on the big front seat on a slot machine.
I'm flying them for the first time tomorrow. Bought a bag at Carryonfree.com to fit Spirit's luggage requirements, I plan on using them for my trips that are 7 days or less, I will still use SWA for my longer trips, but the price difference is a lot here. I just paid $44 roundtrip for February, still need to buy seats, but will wait until after my first flight tomorrow. My question is are the big seats comfortable? I figured for the $15 each way they are charging it should be worth it. I hope they don't change my flight since they only have 2 a day from PDX.
We booked Spirit DTW to LAS and we are paying $272.00/per person total......that includes big front seats, checked luggage and taxes. Haven't had a problem yet with Spirit and the extra big seats are most definately worth the extra money!
Our hotel rooms are comped, our limo will be waiting.........bring it on VEGAS! Oh my still 70 days away......UGGGG!
Spirit has just been hit with a $50k fine by DOT for deceptive price advertising.

They apparently did crap likeput a low price on a billboard, put a tiny asterisk on the price, and then effectively make it too difficult to add about all the other fees and taxes. They made similar misdeeds on Twitter, promoting a low $9 ticket price, but hiding the additional costs behind multiple clicks.

I'm fine with airlines having creative pricing schemes, but they shouldn't be deceptive about it. Looks like DOT agrees.

When I flew back home a week ago..........the only really BAD Gates I saw at McCarran, were Spirit.
I never saw so Many people standing around a Gate........waiting. It was PACKED FULL.
Looked like 4 planes worth of people in the Gate area for 2 planes.

Felt sorry for those people, and was thankful I wasn't one of them.
I kept walking to my SW gate, that had seats for everyone. YMMV

The coach seats on Spirit Airlines have very little room; they're even smaller than USAirways. Both have small seats and when the person in front of you puts their seat back you can't even stand up to get out of your seat to use the rest room. Rediculously cramped.
From the East Coast Delta and Continental are much better choices even if they cost a little more.
I haven't used SouthWest yet.
Stu
Delayed flights, cancelled flights, very uncomfortable seats, outrageous fees and terrible customer service. All that said, its like crack, I keep going back to them for the cheap direct flights from DTW to Vegas. I also have their Mastercard and take free flights, although they even make that a hassle to redeem.
Where are you guys getting the good deals from DTW to LAS? I prefer flying delta but would do spirit again if I can get a good deal.
