Spirit strikes again

The airline renowned for it's lack of customer service has eliminated the toll free number, replacing it with a Utah area code (coincidently an 801 area code).

No spirit airline now has has over 70 fees over and above their alleged low fares.
If Mr. Haney ran an airline,...
Not defending Spirit, but in this day of almost everyone having free long distance on their cell phones, how long before 800 numbers become obsolete?
Judging by the number of calls I get on my 800 number each month...it will be a long long time before they are obsolete.

Captain Bill I many times call a toll free number because that is the number I am familiar with or the only number provided. I can call regular numbers for free on my home phone or my cell phone. I would guess that a lot of the calls you get from people on your 800 number would still be made on a regular number. I would agree with billryan in regard to his comment. When the cost of a toll free number outweighs its value to the consumer toll free numbers will become obsolete.
