Still can't beat Dollar!!

As my March Madness trip gets closer, I'm constantly checking other rates to see if others can beat my Dollar rate ( 272.99 inclusive - Compact 3/22 8 p.m. to 3/31 8 p.m.) and nothing comes close. Even when I add stuff like the Alamo code (its 322.12).

I'm convinced that, day in and day out, Dollar is "usually" the best bet for Vegas !!! This is my 8 consecutive trip to Vegas in 3+ years and no 1 has come close to Dollar (other than EZ car rental)

Just thought that I'd share!!!!!
I used Priceline yesterday because the rates were not going down.
I got a standard size car for the 10 days we will be there for $251.38.
It ended up being through Avis.
Champ, I'm with ya, as usual. For my money, the only one that consistently beats Dollar is Dollar itself when they lower the rates! Not sure what I'd do if I booked other than Dollar - I make a beeline directly to the Dollar Express booth to check the screen for my parked car. At the drop off, I'm on auto pilot knowing which entrance to drive into. No hassles.
Hearing stories about others who either stand in long lines or get pestered about add ons just convinces me to stick with what works for me.

Man Fredo. I sure wish you wish you were in Vegas next week!!!

Dollar usually gives me a good rate, always gives me a good car, Expresses me through, and never tries to up-sell me.
I have them again at Easter - they have a loyal customer here.

I echo the same sentiment Champ. When renting a car in Vegas, I consistently end up using Dollar due to the lower rates but also for the convenience of the Express Club membership.
Well, not to crap too much on the parade...

We went with Dollar on our last trip and it was awful. We were quoted a rate of $59 all in. Went to the express booth and they give me the paperwork with $79 in charges on it. I ask and I'm told they would straighten it out when I returned the car.

We get a brand new (as in no tags and 8 miles on it) Ford Fusion and by the time we are parking there is a lot of smoke coming from under the hood.

I spent the next two hours on the phone trying to get things taken care of. A tow truck brings another (much older and dirty as hell ) Fusion and we went on with our trip.

When we dropped it off we spoke with three different people and none of them helped me with the overcharge. None of them even explained why it was there! One guy even told us "I gave you a 10% discount". He could not explain how a "discount" could make things more expensive.

Two days ago (after bugging them via email, facebook and a survey they sent me) they returned the $20 I was overcharged without a word. No apologies, no extra hassle discount, nothin.

We wasted a lot of time and energy with Dollar and we won't be doing it again.
Oh well I guess 4 out of 5 good reviews is batting 800%. Sorry to hear about your overcharge and car going goofy!

Remind to avoid the Ford Fusions when I check in!!
.... While I have always had great experience with Dollar, my last recent rental did include a Fusion. Everything was great until I accelerated quickly, and the car would start to shake. I only had arranged a 1 day rental for $12.99 and I thought as long as I can make it throughout the day without breaking down, I would be fine. Well, it was a bit shaky and disconcerting, but I was able to return the car the following day. Maybe Fusions are a little weak for rentals?
I guess I have been lucky. I have rented from Advantage, Payless, Dollar and Alamo often without any problems with any of the vehicles. I always rent with the least expensive vehicle offered at the time of my trips to Vegas. Alamo seems to be the company I rent from most often.
