Still can't beat Dollar!!

Looks like the Ford Fusions are causing CON FUSION!!!!!
I find pretty good deals on carrentals.com, mostly from Advantage. Consistently beating Dollar, which I used to use all the time.
I was a steady with Dollar for about 20 rentals, but the last 4 have been with Budget. Dollar was at least $40 higher every time, no matter how many times I checked (like daily). Have had no problems with Budget.
Hey Group,

If anyone's still interested in Dollar rental in LV, I'm seeing an ad in "What's On In Las Vegas" Magazine (that I got during my March 2013 visit to LV) and it says that you can receive a 10% Discount off of their "already low rates" (this applies to time and mileage charges only and the renter must meet Dollar's minimum age, driver and credit requirements).

To get this discount, you have to mention "Corporate Discount #CC1191" by going to https://www.dollar.com or by calling 1-800-800-4000 and be aware that this is good through 12/31/13.

Have rebooked this months visit 4 times and the closest Dollar was to any of them was $60 more on a 4 day booking. Its budget again at $60 for a full size. I've just about given up on Dollar & Alamo, Budget always seems to beat them and I've been very happy with my Budget rental experience over the last 5 rentals.
I should say that I never rent a car when I come to LV. I either come with a friend who drives, or take Greyhound and if I want to go beyond Downtown, then I'll take a city bus.

But since I found an ad for Dollar and some people here have used it, I figured that this could help them save some additional $.

Dollar never did go down for my trip. I've ended up with Enterprise and hope it works out okay.
Hey Group,

Maybe you should check out the thread about the Dollar location on Swensen where you could end up saving possibly a significant amount of money as opposed to the airport location.

But again, their operating hours and your access to that place (especially in conjunction with your Arrival and Departure times) would need to be taken into consideration before using this place.

And actually that ad that I mentioned above with the 10% Corporate Discount is also good at that 4775 Swenson Street location.

I agree, renting off-airport can be a very good strategy. I often hop in cabs at the airport and drive to some major rental company's off-airport location.

For those who stay in downtown Vegas, I've found really low rates at Budget at the Golden Nugget and Hertz at the Plaza. Yes, those locations aren't open 24 hours, but they're open daily and I've sometimes saved $20 to $30 a day there. And returning to the airport never seems to be extra.
