SWA early bird

Interesting, thanks for the info.
We will be flying Southwest for the first time in April from Detroit. Is there anything we need to know about leaving Vegas. Heard Southwest can be a zoo at times. We bought EB. Should we print boarding passes in vegas or with Skycap. We usually fly Delta, but prices were so high.
If you're going to check your bags with the skycap anyway, have him print the boarding pass for you. Printing it ahead of time simply gives you an opportunity to lose it.
Yes, SWA can be a zoo, but mostly during crunch times: at the end of a holiday weekend, for example.

Thanks. We always fly Delta. There is never a wait in Vegas. Are there long lines usually checking in with the Skycap. We will be leaving at noon on a Thursday April 25th.

Queen - my folks were travel agents in the 89's and 90's and I worked for them on summer breaks. I remember delivering tickets to clients, and dressing up to fly!

Greek - I bought my EB in Jan for my Feb flight and it was still only $10, I only noticed the increase in fee when I bought my EB for my Mar trip. Surely they won't up charge on EB's already paid for, as u said, bad business.

Jazzy - the SWA people @ McCarran have it down. Ask your cabbie to drop you off @ the last SWA door, there seem to be less people @ the skycaps that are on the end.
Thanks for the info.

Can you tell me what you mean by this:

"There are a lot of new A-listers right now because of a targeted A-list challenge that is out there until June. So any given flight might might have a few A-List wanna-be's doing this challenge."

I'm A-list, and HAVE noticed quite a few more A's ahead of me, and were wondering how that happened?
Usually I'm low A's.............lately, A-31 or A-35. huh?

So if you, or anyone else, can 'splain. Thanks

CLV, the A-list promotion is a targeted promotion sent to people who flew a lot last year, but are not A-List. This would include people like us, and people who were A-list previously, but who dropped out because they flew less.

After registering for the promotion (deadline was Feb.27), they are giving us A-List for one round trip through June 1. We get the early boarding and the fly-by, etc. Then if we fly a total of 3 RT's (or 6 OW's) before June 1, we will be A-List through the end of 2013. For 2014, we must qualify in the normal way.

So expect a lot more semi-A-Listers through June 1, and fewer through Dec. 31.

Also add to the people in line front of you - those who buy the last-minute business select spots for $40.

We plan to fly less this year because of all the flight rigamarole, because of Stations and Harrah's poor policy judgements, and a generalized fear of bed bugs and other difficulties. We are kind of enjoying staying home.
