Taxi Question please

We are traveling to Vegas in may with another couple, they are staying at PH and we are staying at the Paris. If we catch a cab at the airport together will the cab driver drop us off at both locations ? This way we can split the fare. Just wondering.

I don't know current rules but one time I was in the cab line at the airport, going to Mandalay Bay. When I was up the cabbie got out to get my bags, asked me where I'm going, asked the couple behind me where they were going, they said Luxor and he said you can get in too. All of a sudden out of nowhere and undercover guy busted the cabbie and wrote him a ticket on the spot. I don't know if you are actually traveling with someone if it's ok or not. I do know at one point it was illegal to share fares, FWIW.
If the cab took everyone to Paris, would the people staying at PHo be willing to walk to PHo or visa versa?
I agree with Lisa. Have one couple walk. Walking couple does not leave the tip as a pay off.

That would be the best way to do it. And who knows, once in the cab and on the way he might be agreeable to do 2 drop offs.

Generally, a Las Vegas taxi will take up to 5 people wherever they want to go using the route that the passengers want. I don't see anything in the taxi regulations prohibiting what you hope to do.

I think you're plan should work just fine.

That's still illegal. The regs say a taxi driver may not solicit passengers by voice or action.

NAC 706.552

Passengers can group up on their own, but taxi drivers can't do it for them.
Two years ago we took our friend who stayed in a room at the Palms while we stayed at the Orleans. We told the drive up front we wanted to go both places and it was no problem.
Thank you for the replies, what about the return home trip can they pick up at both properties ?
That is probably not going to happen.

Taxis have to wait in the taxi pick-up line at a hotel and take whichever person is next waiting at the taxi stand. They can't jump the line to pick up a specific waiting customer.

The four of you can meet at one hotel or the other to get a taxi back to the airport together.
