This Has Been Working For Me...

...the last 2 trips.

I have been getting just fair rates from Hertz
my last couple of trips to LV.

It's been around $65 for a weekend (2-day) rental of a full-size car.

However, when I bring the car back and talk
to the guy checking me in and getting my total on a print-out receipt, I ask him if there's a discount he can put in there for me like the last Hertz guy did.

Both times they have done it.

The result?

The first time my tab went down from $65 to
$37 and change.

The last time it went down from $65 to...

... $12.95!!!! LOL

Something to try when you bring your rental back. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

i try to remember to have a kvetch ready when asked, 'was everything alright with the car?' That seems to trigger the checkin agent to take off some of the charge. But twelve bucks. Get outta here!

Wonder if that works with other rental car companies? Probably worth a try, can't hurt.
