Tipping a limo driver

Hey were flying in to Vegas and then have to get to Primm for a dog show.The hotel suggested a limousine service. We've been told the charge will be $70. What is the appropriate tip if we chose to go this route. I've already reserved a car for $200 and still looking to see if the price drops. Part of my party is flying in and the other will be driving a van with the dogs and gear down from Washington so we will have a car at our disposal. I think in the long run the car rental will pay for itself. My question is what kind of tip is appropriate for that destination. I need to let the girls know so they can decide if they want to go in with me on the car rental.

I'm not sure what hotel told you $70, but our company charges a 4 hour minimum from Las Vegas to Primm. That would be $240 for a Stretch Limo and $200 for a Sedan. If you have rented a car, you are much better off using that to get you to Primm.

Yes, $70 is way too low for a ride to Primm. It cost $75 (not including tip) for my sister to get from my house to the airport yesterday (in a BellTrans sedan). This price went up about $10 since last September because of fuel charges. She tipped $15.

Sue im going to call the company myself. I think that amount is too low That's the price my girlfiend said they quoted her and I was shocked. I thought it should have been triple that. I don't know if the dog club is getting a special rate but I kind of doubt it and with the gas prices I would think it will go up.

Called the company and got a quote. 175 + tax and tip one way. We've decided to rent a van a split the cost. Since I know my way around Vegas I will be the chauffeur. Works for all of us and I will take them around Vegas when we have some free time. Everyones happy with this option.

Originally booked the van for $287 and checked Costco last night and the price had dropped to $187. Score.
