LAX to Reno and back mid October on Southwest-they couldn't move us through fast enough. Had carry-on bags only. Husband has his insulin, some juice boxes and tons of other tablet medications, they didn't have him open anything. At LAX there is usually a line for those with medical items, it was too busy, they sent everyone that was just arriving at screening up a short stairway with addl screening stations. We got through faster than those in the normal screening area. Then we went down a ramp that placed us at the normal screening exit into the terminal.
In Reno they were not so busy, but again did not have husband open his medicine bag. The guy in front of me had to go to the side and have his carry on hand searched.
I'm glad we have whatever protection this type of screening provides, but I'm one who arrives early and sits waiting for my flight, my sister is the one who needs the crowd to part for her as she is about to miss her plane. I've seen our birth certificates, I know we have the same parents and grew up in the same house.
