TSA Nudeosope OVERKILL at McCarran, especially if you are a Woman!

Nudeoscope OVERKILL Especially if you are a Woman!!!

4 of the last 5 return trips thru McCarran Airport.........I've had to go thru Nudeoscope.

Today was the last straw.
There was NO line to go thru the Metal detector, but the (bitchy) Amazon woman TSA was blocking it,
and sent Me & 3 other women thru the Nudeoscope........she was more interested in making a LINE at
the Nudeoscope (of Women), while there was NOBODY going thru the Metal detector. Why?

I looked at her and asked WHY are we waiting in Line to go thru this (Nudeoscope) when there's No line there, (pointing to the metal detector)

She immediately got bitchy defensive and started the "Pat-Down" Alternative talk,
All the while telling us 4 women, backing up the Line, that they do this at ALL THE AIRPORTS.

I told her..............NO THEY DON'T!!! I GO THRU LOTS OF OTHER AIRPORTS & THEY ONLY OCCASIONALLY DO THIS, (nudeoscope)
BUT HERE AT MCCARRAN ITS THE RULE, INSTEAD OF THE EXCEPTION!

The Other Women were just as offended as I was.
This feels like Harrassment!!

And how come the Husband (of the woman behind me) got to walk thru Metal detector, and we didn't?

If I only went by my experiences at McCarran............I would stop flying.

WHY were we singled out? Seriously.........there was NO line to go thru Security, and yet,
TSA forces all the women (there were 4 of us) to go thru Nudeoscope, instead of Metal detector.

Please don't tell me we could have opted out for a pat down........that was Not an option,
None of us wanted her.......its? meaty claws on us.

This is Not Right.
Wow!! I'd be PISSED too. I've been through there 6 times in the last 18 months and have never been sent
through that thing. (knock on wood) From what I have witnessed in my recent travels, I thought they put
people in that after they triggered the metal detector. Guess I was mistaken.

I don't know what you can do about it though.

Edited to add words to my blank post duh.
Kind of interesting that they were singling out woman. Could there be an ulterior reason for this? Maybe one would hope not and that is just inefficiency.

Terry
I think she liked CLV and wanted to see more. However, I do support your position of being pissed.

" I thought they put people in that after they triggered the metal detector. Guess I was mistaken. "

Guwapo, thats what they SHOULD do. Not just direct you there for a quota, or because you are a Woman?

Appears to be a lingering Problem, and an issue that McCarran TSA needs to address,
& STOP doing Immediately.

It wasn't just me. Other women were obviously pissed too. It looked blatant, and No reason for it!

This was the first time in long time, that I saw virtually NO LINE at Security.......and yet they were
forming a Line of women at the Nudeoscope. There's no good explanation...........Its WRONG!!!

Has getting upset and reporting your anger here the last 3 days changed anything? I suggest you vent your frustration to the TSA or your congressman - maybe then your reaction to this issue will produce your desired results.
Well, I have never been through it yet. LOL

I think they are afraid of me.

I know LV is the worst for TSA people.

Early on, I had run-ins with them almost every time I went through security.

This stopped when I asked to speak to the supervisor on duty.

He was polite and answered all my questions.
This was over the shoes off-or-on program
they had at one time in the early days.

Anyway, since then, when I go through the 1st class security line at LV they give me no problems. LOL

CLV, I would ask to speak to the supervisor on duty.

You have to remember, these folks are not
rocket scientists. At least, I don't think they are.

BTW, you realize everyone likes a tall blond, right?
drmilled...........you obviously don't know me, which is fine by me.
I notified authority, and media, before posting here.
I'm Not the keep quiet wallflower type. 3 days is nothing.
I believe in standing up for what is right & wrong, so I'm Not about
to keep quiet about it.
If thats not ok with you? Buzz off buster.
Hundreds of thousands of people died as the result of some hijackings nearly a decade ago. That's a LOT of people. I fly a lot and support strict, effective airline security so that we don't repeat that nightmare.

The full-body scanners at McCarran are not used for punishment or titilation. Have you seen the images they generate? The stick figures that cavemen scrawled millenia ago are more arousing. The scanners are part of effective countercrime tool and should continue to be widely deployed.

Every now and then we have to make minor sacrifices for the good of this country. This is one good citizens should be willing to make in exchange for the convenience of air travel. Think of all the troops we lost as a result of those attacks, I think nearly 5,000 of them have died, and tens of thousands have life-changing injuries.. And, if being scanned is too much, we fortunately have lots of options.

It's healthy for passengers to complain and for procedures to be reviewed. But other than the TSA officers' alleged rudeness, I don't think being sent to these scanners is any reason for concern.
I have to agree with Chilcoot. With all TSA s faults you can't argue with the point we have not had a recurrence of a 9/11 attack in 10 years. I was scanned for the first time last Friday while leaving Las Vegas and the TSA dude showed me the picture as I had forgot to remove some money from one of my pockets. Not much to look at. Thank God!
