Uber Question

I'll be there from a Sunday afternoon to Thursday morning so not prime time weekend, that will help mitigate surge pricing.  I'm staying at Palms Place and plan to go downtown once, to the Orleans once and to Palace Station once.  When I factor in round trip for those plus the airport it's about $75 less than a rental car.  And while I don't drink enough for it to be a factor I guess it's nice that it doesn't HAVE to be a factor.  If/when a hot babe wants to buy me drinks I can partake.

You should be able to rent a car from fox for 175 or less for your trip all in.  I would be surprised if you can rideshare for 20 bucks a leg with tip. Probably a wash if those are the only 3 stops you make. The car gives you the freedom to find better value, but you do not have  to drive by taking and uber or taxi

I just rented a car, Hyundai Sonata, for 5 days it was $115. Based upon what I spent on ride shares my recent prior trips it saved me a ton of money.  I have seen ride share trips from LAS to downtown go as high as $50+. The nice thing about the rental is you can go to all of those out of the way places to visit.  I can't say I enjoyed parking on the strip but I found it easy to get in and out of the Fremont area.

Yeah I'm kind of split on it.  I've rented many times at LAS and the shuttle system is easy and straight forward.  And I'm in most of the rental car clubs so I can bypass any lines and go straight to the cars.  But it's also nice to just get in a cab/Uber and go.  I'm not checking a bag so I would be able to get to the hotel quickly. I'd have to pay parking downtown but not anywhere else I'm going to.  I have a rental car reservation and will probably make a decision a day or two before I go.

There is all kinds of free parking downtown, and cheap to valet

I haven't driven downtown in years, where is the free parking?

I wouldn't go so far as to say "all kinds," but there are plenty of validation options. Sometimes you have to spend and/or gamble a few bucks. I'd consult the LVA list for the latest.

I can tell you that Four Queens is 100% free not just for garage parking, but valet as well. That's my go-to parkification when I'm downtown. It's central to everything.

Free valet at Boyd properties and 4 Queens is the way to go, but all of the casinos down there validate parking with a small amount of play.

Thanks guys.  Appreciate it.

I know for certian the Fremont Hotel has free valet as does the 4 Queens. The 4 Queens also lets hotel guests self-park for free and if you aren't staying you can validate with play at the slot club and get the free parking. Obviously, you should tip if you use the valet.
