United: Jet Fuel Price Surges 58%

"The chief executive of United Airlines, Scott Kirby, said that the price of jet fuel, one of the biggest operational costs for airlines, has risen 58 percent since before the start of the war. As a result, ticket prices may soon start to rise, Kirby warned."

SFO to LAS is crazy.I could go to Europe for less on mile plan. I did get a reduction last week.I guess now up again.

SFO to LAS is crazy.

I just randomly looked at SFO-LAS on Wed, April 15, in coach (not basic), one way.

$94 on Alaska and Southwest, $99 on United, all nonstop, maybe 12 different flights.

Not seeing what you do.Those were good prices 20 years ago.

Alaska does have better prices then some other airlines. Some feel $99.One way flight a lot.I do have miles plan.I am also a old lady and aim for first class.Cost me 25 points.I just got refund departing flight went down to 17.5 points.Cash around $225. each.I may be exaggerating.I will see how many points to Europe.

Your right.I am lost in a time warp.I see one way SFO to Rome 55 points.

Thats still around thousand bucks.I do know flights less pre covid.Like everything else.I was responding to other folks complaining about price.
