Has anyone seen any projections re the amount airfares will increase? Obviously, fuel costs are only part of the expense, so maybe a 50% fuel cost spike would increase fares by ..20%?

But of course we're dealing with very old people who live to complain.
Nailed it.
North American airlines made an average profit of an average of $9.50 per passenger (3.3%) last year.
And US airfares, on average, were 34.7% lower last year than they were 10 years ago, in 2015 (after adjusting for inflation).

A 3.3% profit margin for almost any good or service is very consumer-friendly.
But of course some just live to complain.

Net profit after dividends, buybacks, "adjustments," etc. Gross profit for 2025 was 12% for Delta, 14% for Alaska, etc. as per their annual financial statements.
Any business that generates that kind of ROI is doing remarkably well. And bully for them.
