What The-----?

Had a flight booked ( for the 3rd time) Sept,  24 Austin Tx to Vegas direct flight leaving 1340 arrive 1430, received email from Southwest changed flight to departure 1215 arrive 1650 by way of Nashville, Tenn , what the ____, oh no you don't, called Southwest, nice lady JoAnn changed back to diredt flight Sept 24,, leave Austin 1100 arrive Vegas 1155, that is more like it. good job JoAnn, suggest everyone double check any changes, still  love Southwest, But What The ____.

Had same thing happen for July 18 trip.  Had our preferred times, non-stops to/from Vegas.  Then that dreaded email from SWA "Here are your flight changes."  Oh, no.

Plane changes in Dallas and again in Phoenix.  What?

Nice lady at SWA re-booked it back to the original.  All just fine.  Then that dreaded email again.

Turned out SWA had wiped the non-stops (and other flights) off those dates.

So I re-booked same good flights for July 27th, non-stop, great times.  Uh, oh, that dreaded email again, all non-stops wiped off the schedule.   Fiinally got it down to 1 plane change (Dallas Love) each way.  We are spoiled by going non-stop for so long.

Can't tell when they resume because even though you see what you see on the web site, they were/are modifying flights as things were happening (and people probably cancelling flights like crazy).  I'm guessing the reservations people on the phone weren't getting the changes right away.

Hope your flights stay good, Bobby.  That far out they probably will.

I have November flights booked for SEMA, non-stops, but who knows?  I won't be surprised if they change us again.

One of many advantages of being retired, check it every day, Iremembred your post, again Thanks Candy for your timely info. waiting patiently Viva Las Vegas.

Sorry to repeat stories...one of the joys of geezerhood!  LOL.

My Southwest flights, Indy to Vegas Oct 2-5, have already changed but improved.  Still non-stop, but the outbound flight leaves Indy 1 hour later (now 7:05am), and the return departs 45 minutes later (now 8:55am).  We now arrive Vegas at 8:05am.  That gives me a little more sleep each day.

I'm expecting more changes, but I suspect that they will stay as non-stop flights.  I do have a 10:30am tee time, and my friend will grab a rental car prior to my arrival.  If all goes well, we'll pull away from the airport by about 8:30 after grabbing our golf bags.  Then off to breakfast and then to Henderson for golf.

Flights are dirt cheap right now....even when you book inside the 4 week window which normally much more expensive.     I just booked Myrtle Beach round trip for under $200 for a departure in mid July.

And that’s not an anomaly.

I don’t  think there’s any benefit to booking something more than a month out.   Who knows what the airlines are going to be doing ...and their government lifeline runs out in Sept.     you’re gonna see a whole bunch of flight Changes then

Not again, you were. right Candy Southwest changed our direct flight Austin to Vegas 2 hours 45 minutes to 1 stop in Chicago 6 hours plus last time Nashville 5 hours plus, called early today normal wait time 2 minutes today 15 minutes, uh oh talked to a nice lady Barbara changed back to a direct flight 2 hours 45 minutes. Southwest Customer Service are cool, stupid computer makes these dumb decisions, Oh those computer nerds. Friend traveling with us had same ,,problem this morning,oh Lord give me patience, & Sweet Sweet Martie another Bloody Mary. Hurry up Sept 24.

Same hours you wanted?  Don't these SWA people understand the anxiety they put us through doing this?

We are cancelling our next week trip to Vegas...boo hoo.  Two of our threesome have health concerns (not corona).  Even my Host is out sick.  And husband miraculously got in with two different doctors he serously needs to see ASAP, both appts next week, the week of our trip, so the appts take first place.  Bad early morning hours on the outbound anyway.  So, all signs say CANCEL in big red letters.

Now I'm re-booking blind to preserve Early Bird and the decent price of the original.  Might things be better by October?  At least maybe husband's and BFF's medical issues will be improved.  Sheesh.  Good luck that you have no more sneaky flight changes by SWA.

BTW Bobby, notice my new screen name.  It was the original, so I'm glad to have it back.  Wanted a few like you to realize this is me!

Thanks Candy for your kind comments, on other web sites I am BoVegas, we are bored and awaiting our trip Sept 24- Oct 1, even thought about a quick trip to Lake Charles , La.,but no. Understand medical issues, we have had in past but none in the past 5 years, maybe the 4 of us will have a drink & gamble in Vegas in the future, hurry up Sept 24, Viva Las Vegas from Smithville, Texas Stay healthty.
