Transportation - Which car rentals don't charge addt'l fee for a spouse?

I know! I was surprised too! Matter of fact, I went back online to consider upgrading my 'compact' car choice at Budget. I got confused and accidentally chose compact again but it was $17 cheaper! So I chose to keep the compact and get it for $183 as opposed to $201

Looked at Alamo for a compact and it's $253! I had a coupon for a free double upgrade but that still only took it down to $230.

Most of my coupons require 5 day rental and/or over Sat. night - we're doing neither. Fly in Tues. and leave on Sat. (mid May) so none of my coupons (Entertainment Book) are of use!

I don't know your dates, but guessed based on what you posted.

I was just able to get an Economy car from Alamo for $142.75 (total with all taxes/fees) for May 17th through the 21st. That's $40 less than Budget, and I've never actually seen any Economy cars in Alamo's lot -- they always point to at least a compact, and an upgrade from there is sometimes free for the asking.

I quoted it for a 5:30pm pickup on 5/17 and a 6:00pm drop-off on 5/21, which kicked it to the weekly rate versus the more expensive daily rate. I used ID number 7015135 (Alamo Insiders -- free to join on their website, and includes a free extra driver) and coupon code AD5691JDV ($25 off a 3-day rental, pick up by June 30th, 2011, no Saturday overnight required.).

If you're not able to find a better rate than $183 (ouch), PM me with your dates/times and I'll be happy to see what I can find for you.

Those are the dates w/2pm pick up/drop off time. My problem is I can't take a chance with a smaller car as my husband is not a small man. I'm not even sure if he'll be ok w/the compact. But I will take your info and see what else I can come up with. Thanks!!! I really, really do appreciate the help!!
