Which rental companies let you bypass the counters?

We usually rent from National since my wife's company has fee day coupons. We love that we get to go straight to the car, no waiting in line at the counters. I have had some bad experiences doing that. one year, late, long line and they had no cars left.

Anyway, Enterprise is half the rate of National. BUT, can't go straight to your car.

Anyone know if you can do this with other companies? I am a member of several.

We are coming in late evening on the 21st so it'll likely be busy with the March Madness crowd

Dollar has Express - works great!

None better. Dollar express...from the McCarren shuttle bus straight to your car to the garage exit (where the check you in)..

Other than Dollar, I've used Budget alot for this reason. Walk outside, look at the monitor
and go straight to your car. Contract inside.

Thrifty is same as dollar, sign up for their express & go straight to your car.

I've signed up for all of these Express #'s just for this reason.

I also signed up for Advantage to avoid the Line, but I don't know IF you can go
straight to your car? Haven't tried it yet......
And after reading about all the headaches people have
gone thru with Adv. Not upholding their Res. price.........I might cancel & book elsewhere.

Preferably with a Co. where you can go straight to your car!

Alamo now allows you to bypass the counter AND the kiosk. Use online check in to enter credit card info and other details. Car selection at arrival is similiar to National. Just walk outside to the garage, choose any car in the aisle of the size category booked and present paperwork to boothling when leaving the garage.

I was always wondering about how the Alamo's on line check in works...I usually fly in from Hon so it's about a 6 hr flight into LV...if I were to check in on line would my "start time for the rental" be the time that I arrive at the boothling when leaving the Alamo garage?

Thats how it works at Dollar. You should include your arriving flight info with your reservation in the event that your flighht is delayed. This way you have justifiacation as to why you are arriving an hour late etc.etc.. That would be easily verifiable by the car boothling!

As Champster mentioned just enter your flight info when making your rervation. I usually enter my pick-up time as 45 minutes later than my arrival time. That way time is built in for taxing to the gate, getting luggage and taking the shuttle to the rental car facility.

One caveat - you can't modify the reservation online once you go through the online check-in process. If there are any changes or cancellations you have to call. Best to wait until day before or day of flight to use online check-in.
