My traveling friend builds up MYVegas points for us to use on something now and then.
Almost everyone who has redeemed MYVEGAS freebies knows you must pay attention to the details such as how long after redemption the voucher is good for, including "dark" days of a concert or restaurant, etc. Once you present your coupon to get the voucher you are stuck with the restrictions or lose it.
Recently we had two we were looking forward to using during our stay at Beau Rivage: 1) A free appetizer at Stalla and 2) a free "Adult Beverage" in MGM Sports place.
The Stalla appetizer would be crab cakes which we've always liked, and the "Adult Beverage" at MGM Sports was a choice of ice cream-based cocktails, of which we wanted the Mud Slide (lots of 'adult' liquors in it, according to the menu...LOL).
Anyway, got to Stalla and found the menu was significantly changed, including no more crab cakes. Damn! We chose something else for the freebie but it was disappointing (as was the whole meal...unusual for Stalla...new chef maybe?).
So, on to the MGM Sports place where we would get our free Mudslide cocktail. Uh, oh. The server apologized "Oh, so sorry, they've just run out of ice cream." Damn. Our rotten luck. It was our last night of the stay. The voucher was not good for anything else, like an appetizer or something.
We told this sob story to the Players Club and they did return the points to my friend's account. Don't know if they will be available next time we go.
Just posting this as a warning...pay close attention when you work with MyVegas freebies.
