U.S. air travel search sites?

Which is the best?

Thanks.

CheapO something, Travelocity, Kayak, Airfarewatchdog.com, others.   I think they are all similar, depends on on the day you are searching.  They all open up to multiple sites so you have to do a scavenger hunt to find the tantalizing fare they lured you in with.

If any allows a refund that would be a plus.  I think most do not do refunds.

Good luck!

Skyscanner, JustFly and Kayak are my favorites.

Cheapoair isn't competitive on economy fares as they add booking fees that make them more expensive than most of the other booking sites.  Apparently, it is a good site for those looking for business class and first class though.

We've written a lot about Skyscanner, which is a local favorite and easy to use. The best explanation of how to use it most effectively is in our October 14 post Bargain Fairs to Las Vegas in the New Year.

For reasons that surpass my understanding, we are unable to hyperlink from here, so just go to lva.travel and type "skyscanner" in the search bar (little magnifying glass in the top right).

Except that businesses set up their business travelers on the big refundable fares and don't worry about finding bargain non-refundables.

Michael,

I can tell you from an affiliate perspective, JustFly is the best as it offers $8 commissions on domestic flights and $16 on international flights with a 45-day cookie.  The Fares are just as good as SkyScanners the only negative is that it harder to pick through the fares to find the low-cost ones if you are promoting low-cost fares.

I notice on Kayak when I do a search by default JustFly is checked on search other sites. It is no mystery as to why.

Thanks Mark!

I don't know too much about the affiliate side of the business, but I've found SkyScanner as so easy to use that I've always gone with it. We are typically writing about low fare opportunities. I'll take a look at JustFly, but I really love the ability to find low fares by date on SkyScanner.
