I am going to try and make this a little shorter than last time. Please bear with my writing skills.
This trip consists of 6 people but mostly only 4 will be mentioned. The lovely wife, myself, nephew Doug, and Tiny.
4:30am Champagne toast or chug whichever you want to call it. We are off for the Akron/Canton airport for the Southwest 6:30am flight(going to miss this direct flight). Flight only 2/3 full and off we go. Land in Vegas 40 minutes early then proceed to wait 25 minutes for a gate. De-plane, luggage and off to rental car facility. Payless van picked up and away we go. (Payless never again) Drop the other two of our party off at Freemont and we are on our way to IN-and-Out. 9:50 and they don't open until 10:30. Head to LVA to renew membership and get new book. Finally 10:30 and now burger time (animal style). After lunch we head to Orleans. Nothing much here but a nice hit on Buffalo for $160 then proceed to donate most of that back over the next few hours. Around 2pm we head off to Hard Rock Casino for the Pink Taco. Sit and slow play short pay video poker while enjoying many Cadillac Margaritas (not well stuff either). Play about even here until about 7pm. Getting pretty buzzed by now and switch to $ short pay and quickly lose my original $100. With everyone feeling pretty good now we better get back downtown. Park at Main Street Station and make a beeline for the Golden Nugget and Claudes Bar. Friend that we dropped off at Freemont this morning called and wanted to buy us some drinks.(just what we needed) He told us that he just hit 4 Aces with a kicker on a .50 machine for $2000. He had also hit several other four of a kinds and was up nearly $3000. Wifey now drunk and ready for bed. We head back to van grab luggage and check into Main Street Station(never again).
Wife off to bed and me and three amigos eat at 777(very good). Gamble for a little while donating a small amount. During this time I hit 4 Aces dealt with the 3 of spades. ON JOB!!!!! Boo!!!! Good night.
Up and ready to roll around 9am. Off to the Original House of Pancakes on Fort Apache and Flamingo. Good but not as good as in the past. Oh yea Tiny tells us he hit $500 on 4 deuces at Main Street this morning. The luck is building among our group. Next stop was Suncoast. I really liked this place and decided this would be home over Memorial Day weekend. Won a few bucks and off to Rampart. Kind of dreary casino with an amazing hotel on beautiful grounds. Again won a few bucks on various slots and craps. Now we naturally end up at Red Rock. After a while there we decide it is time to eat at Lucilles BBQ. (fantastic as always).
After late lunch we head back downtown for the evening. Many of you Main Street fans will enjoy this part. I sit down at the old school .25 JOB coin droppers. As you are looking at them furthest machine to right. After an hour or so and hitting a few 4OAK and playing about even I hit anther 4OAK. Awaiting the scratch card I decide to throw a five dollar bill into the Aces NO Faces machine just across the aisle from me. Boom!!! First hand dealt 4 Aces with 7 clubs. Total win on that one hand 7900 quarters. ($1975). Not long after we decide to move on. Stop in California and Tiny pulls another $460 from a Buffalo. Next stop birthday boy my now 30 year old nephew decides we should go to Downtown Grand. I walk into door and make immediate left and deposit $20 into a Buffalo. Max bet third spin hit bonus and win another $270. Over to the bar we go to watch the end of the Bengals-Stoolers game. Within 20 minutes birthday boy says hey look my first Royal Flush. Not only that but it was a $1378 progressive Royal. Birthday boy gets lucky as do the Stoolers. After Royal paid birthday boy again hits about 10 minutes later for a dealt 4 Aces with kicker progressive for a little over $500. Fantastic band playing so we stay and listen and dance for about another hour. Way to much to drink so head back for bed. Well not quite yet. Into front doors of Main Street Station up the steps and hang a right. There they sit all empty Ace No Face machines. I deposit a five into the first one and hit deal QQQQ4. 125 quarters and hit cash out after getting scratch card. Move over to next machine and deposit another 5. Second hand dealt and this machine starts spitting quarters again. Wholly crap did I really just hit the four aces with no face again. NOPE after second look three aces no face for 250 quarters. Cash out and off to bed for real.
Sunday morning wake up and meet at my machine. Uh oh some one missing. Birthday boy stayed out way to long and lost way too much of his winnings last night. 3 of us head down to Hash House a GoGo (one of my favorite breakfast spots). Sit down as server delivers food to the table directly behind us. Wham I jump! What the hell was that. I turn around and as the server sat the food down at the table behind us a big cockroach runs out of the guys food and he killed that sucker right there on the table. Gross!!! We are up and out of there like right now. Well now where to eat. We grab the van and off we go driving haplessly around deciding where to eat. We end up at New York New York and wait ten minutes for Gonzales ye Gonzales to open up. Margaritas here we go again. After lunch and a few Margs we had back to pick up slow moving 30 year old. he agreed that it was rough getting old. Now we head to Ballys to self park and walk to Cromwell.
Gamble there for a little and head over to Flamingo. We were in the Flamingo for a total of 5 minutes when my phone rings. Expecting good news as it is the couple staying at the Freemont the news was actually not very good. The lady whom is in her early 80's is not feeling very well and experiencing chest pains. Wont call 911 so we head back downtown to check on her as birthday boy is a nurse and he convinces her that being 83 and messing around with chest pains is a recipe for trouble. She reluctantly decides that she should be checked out so we rush to the nearest hospital that we could find. North Vista Hospital. They kept her overnight as they needed to do blood work three different times to check enzymes. The next afternoon she was released with an aok and orders to see doctor when she returns home. So happy she was ok.
Monday we wake up go check on our hospital patient and find out she will be released around noon. Pick her up and drop them back at the Freemont for some much needed rest. Then the four of us proceed to Boulder Station and try the newly remodeled Cabo for lunch and of course Margaritas. Food good drinks not so. Left some money here and headed for downtown Henderson with plans of a few casino stops. We start at the Elderado and have two of the best cocktail servers ever. Also they delivered the coldest Bud-Lights I have had in a long time about every ten minutes(maybe Less). Stayed here for around two hours and decided that after all of those beers the best thing to do was get back downtown.
Spent the evening going from place to place and leaving to much $ at each one. Somewhere along this evening the wife find a cash out voucher deep within he purse from the Golden Nugget. $450 are you kidding me? You won this the first night and were that drunk that you forgot all about it until you found it tonight(awesome). Cash that ticket and decide since it was found money we would try the $25 Triple Diamond machine at the Nugget. We insert $200 of this found money and begin playing. this machine is a one coin machine and we have really good look playing this machine for the next 90 minutes on that buy in. Never hit a hand pay but numerous hits of $50-$750. After a earning a whole bunch of points on our card we cash out with $375 and head to Pizza Rock for dinner. After too much pizza and way to many beers we call it a night. Well not after depositing $5 in each of the Ace no Face machines back at the Main Street Station.
Tuesday we get up call for late check out and head to our machine. We wait around for the other two to show up but again birthday boy unable to make breakfast. this morning the three of us head to The Egg and I at the 4500 block of Sahara. Fantastic breakfast and back to Main Street. Play there on my machine until 12:45. We grab luggage and head to Freemont to pick up the other two.
Flight is not until 5:30 so we stop at Hard Rock. They go into casino while wife and I return to Pink Taco where this trip began. Really short pay video poker and a few more Margaritas we order lunch cash out a very small profit and gather up the gang. Drop van off and breeze through security. I lose way to much playing at the airport while waiting for flight. Board less than half full flight and have a really bumpy flight home.
Three things I said I will never do again.
Hash House a GoGo at the Plaza. Cockroach did me in on that one. Will visit Sahara Rd. location from now on.
Main Street Station Rooms. As much as I like the casino and the games they offer the bathrooms are just way too small as well as dark and dirty. Maybe I would try again after complete remodel.
Payless Rental Car. This place gave me a great rate on a Chrysler Town and Country Mini Van. Too bad I did not reserve the one with the leather seat option. When I approached the counter things started off really great with the very nice and friendly young lady. She then informed me that I was not going to get the vehicle that I had reserved. The only Town and Countrys they had left all had leather seats and that would be a $55 upgrade. So the best she could offer me was a Ford Transit van but it had no windows but did seat six and was the equall trade for what I had reserved. After going around and around on that with me losing the battle to the young girl whom had now turned into a down right witch. Next come the insurance upsell. Now the gasoline ripoff. And last but not least she had charged me $90 more than my original reservation showed.
And yes my reservation did include all of the taxes and airport fees. With no other options and the great rate I had for this vehicle even including her bs $90 extra I relented and took the paperwork and proceeded to the lot to pick up my vehicle. Well low and behold when we get downstairs the lot attendant was there and already pointing to the Town and Country if I wanted to upgrade. No thanks where is my vehicle. She sends us around the corner and instead of the now window six passenger van we end up with a 15 passenger van. Just what I need to drive all over Vegas in. Birthday boy proclaims to me Uncle Troy don't be so mad. You just got the first comp of the trip. We got windows comped became one of the silly jokes of the trip. Well I eventually called Payless and they did honor my rate and said that if we wanted the Town and Country we could go back to airport and exchange for no upcharge. Too late Payless. Your counter witch has lost you one customer you will never get back again.
Hope you enjoyed.
