On my way to go to a Las Vegas Jam Band Society concert featuring Particle I deceided to stop by Ellis Island. I was pretty lite up before arriving and destroyed the steak special and a tasty beer. I then went to the bar and used an ACG coupon for more beers. Along the way some strangers bought me more beers. At this point I'm pretty wasted and ready to go see the show. I'm about to leave and remember I haven't hit the kiosk to play the free pick six. I slide my players card through the card reader and fifty numbers appear on the touch screen. I always pick the same numbers cause I figure it's random and doesn't matter. For those of you who have never done this when you pick a number the machine will instantly either give you a big red X or a big green dollar $ on that number. The red X means you picked one of the 44 losing numbers and a green dollar $ means you picked one of the six winning numbers. Before I go on I need to give you a little background on this Grinder. I've spent well over 1100 nights in Las Vegas and eat at Ellis Island all the time. I can't tell you how many times I've played pick six but it's alot. I think I may have hit 3 numbers out of six once in my life.
Back to the story. I super quick pick my first four numbers at the speed of light when I realize I've hit all four. Even stone cold drunk I realize this could be good, better or real good. I'm staring at the screen and I think I was even shaking a little bit (and not from all the beer). Even wasted I realize I have 2 chances to hit one more number for $5000.00 or if I manage to hit both of my last 2 numbers I would pocket a cool $50000.00. With only 46 numbers left in the urn I know I have a real chance at big money. Atlas I pick 2 red X's and still win a $50 Chevron gas card for my odds defying four out of six. I happily stumble my way to the Strip Hard Rock Cafe for the Particle show. It was a great show and the President of the LVJBS even remembered me from previous shows which lead to more free "stuff". What a lucky and fun night.
